How to run it

    Build a personal baseline

    Collect repeated HRV readings under reasonably consistent conditions. Use the resulting range as your reference instead of a population norm or another person's score.

Two athletes with different baselines

One athlete's HRV rises from a personal baseline of 50 milliseconds toward 70. Another athlete remains above that absolute value but falls from a baseline of 100 toward 85. The review judges the first trend as the stronger adaptation because each athlete is compared with himself rather than with the other athlete.

The lower absolute score can represent the healthier personal trend.

Seven-day recovery review

A professional athlete's daily HRV values are reviewed over seven days. Large up-and-down swings are considered alongside training load, recovery, and stress instead of treating the latest reading as a standalone command.

The athlete gets a contextual view of nervous-system stability rather than a binary daily verdict.

Common mistakes

Comparing with influencers

A higher score from another person does not establish a healthier or more resilient nervous system because personal baselines and non-modifiable factors differ.

Chasing a permanently rising score

HRV does not need to climb continuously. Stability around a personal norm may be the more useful signal.

Obeying one morning reading

A single value lacks the trend, context, and subjective information needed to drive a sound decision.
